June Wrap Up

June was fun and flew by way too fast.  We have spent time doing chores, going to the library and reading, practicing piano, and all that stuff, but we've also spent lots of time just having fun, playing, and enjoying summer.  There have only been a few days that I've wanted to pull my hair out because of fighting and too much togetherness.  For the most part we've done well.  I have been terrible with pictures, but I thought I'd post the few photos I have of other happenings in June and then hopefully I can move on to July which has been great so far!

The night before Seth's baptism we went to Jodi's 40th birthday surprise 80's party.  Jer picked up this sweet blond mullet right before.  His choices were blond or black.  Jeff on the other hand planned ahead and had a perfectly matching mullet.  Great music and some funny costumes.  We're officially old!

 

     

We had a back ho come and make a dirt road down to the river.  It has made it so much easier to get down there.  Jer may have also done some slight modifications to make us a river bank.  We'd like to have a rope swing and a few other things in the future, but we've already had a lot of fun this summer with family and friends hanging out and kayaking down there.  It's a great place to beat the heat.

 

 
I decided none of the kids are too old for me to read out loud.  We started with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  We have all had fun with this.

I helped out at a little science, nature, and art camp that Seth and Ian attended for a few days.  It was a ton of work and crazy busy, but they loved it!

 
Ian and Leah took swim lessons at our neighbor's house.  The big kids got to come along and swim.  Leah was a total pill and didn't learn a thing but I'm happy to say she is doing much better this week during her session at the Campbell's house.

 
Seth played baseball and Ian played tball during the month of June making for lots of busy nights, but they both seemed to have quite a bit of fun.  Seth never really looked ready to bat, but he only struck out once the whole season.  T ball is still right up there at the top of my list as one of the most painful sporting events to spectate as a parent!
